Miss AZ Teen finalist

My nurse who administers my allergy shots has a daughter in competition for the 2006 Miss Arizona Jr. Teen competition. She asked if would mind photographing her daughter to help her along. I agreed and here's a few of the photos from the shoot. Katrina sent me a nice note after the session. "Dear Bob, Thank you for taking the time out of your day for my photoshoot, I had a blast! My pictures turned out beautifully. I really appreciate you. Thank you and God bless! Sincerely, Katrina Trampush. PS Thank you for helping me make my dream come true!"

Fellow Photographer Family Portrait

You've heard the expression the "cobblers children go without shoes." The same is true of photographers and family portraits. We get so busy taking care of others we don't always get time to take care of our own. I've been after my fellow Sedona photographer to take his family protrait for a while and finally we were all able to gather at the same time. His girls gave him this as a Fathers Day present. We went down to Red Rock Crossing in Sedona for these images. Here's the email from David after checking ou the posted images online.... "Bob, That was quick! Very nice photos. Great light. Beautiful colors. We all look better in your cameras than we do in real life -- especially yours truly. You also took the best photo of me ever! And there are some outstanding shots of the girls and all four of us together. Thank you." David Sunfellow

Cristin & Mark's wedding

Been a little slow to post to the blog as it's been so busy.... Here are some images from one of our weddings on June 3rd. This was great fun because I love to photograph weddings where there is a lot of emotion going on and this was definately one of those. Cristin was a great sport about climbing down a steep hillside so we could get some photos down by the creek about 100 feet below the roadside. My associate photographer neal Margolin and I got to the property early because I knew there were some blackberry bushes all along the path to the creek that would grab the brides dress so we got clippers and trimmed them all back. Must have worked as Cristin only got caught one time. Should we change our name to Bob Coates Photography and gardening service? I don't think so. We only do what we have to do in order to get memorable images. This wedding was held at the Slide Rock Lodge in Oak Creek Canyon. Neat property with wonderful hosts Joanne and Andy.DSCF1291.psd
